Caring For Your Halcyon Jewellery

Although metals are strong and our pieces are sturdy, jewellery is still a breakable item. We encourage you to treat your pieces with the utmost care. You can clean your jewellery with a soft toothbrush and some warm, but not boiling, soapy dishwashing liquid to bring back its sparkle.

  • It is not recommended that you wear your jewellery when participating in sports, sleeping, showering, or swimming, as this will tarnish the metal as well as shorten the lifespan of the jewellery. It is also not recommended that jewellery, especially that with pearls, be submerged in water for long periods of time.
  • Avoid all contact with creams, perfume and make-up, solvents, bleach, and any other household chemicals and cleaning products.
  • Halcyon Jewellery Studio is not liable for items damaged as a result of abnormal wear or rough usage.
  • We offer a general repair service on all jewellery, whether it was purchased from us or not. Contact us with your issue and we will get back to you with a quote to repair your piece.
  • We also offer a plating service. Contact us for a quote as plating costs will vary depending on the size of the piece.

Plated Jewellery

While solid metals can be cleaned and polished, extra care should be given to plated jewellery pieces. If you would like us to re-plate any jewellery piece for you, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange this. Plating and re-plating service starts at R100.
